Our NTC Council, or Board of Directors, serves as the governing body responsible for making strategic decisions and overseeing the affairs of the Ninilchik Village Tribe. This group plays a crucial role in advancing the interests, well-being, and sovereignty of our tribal nation, guiding it toward a prosperous and sustainable future while honoring its rich cultural heritage.
Our Council Election Cycle ensures stability and representation within our tribal governance. Council seats have three-year terms staggered over three cycles, guaranteeing that at least one seat is up for election annually. This system promotes continuity, with experienced members serving alongside newly elected representatives, maintaining institutional knowledge and allowing for a smooth transition of leadership. Voted in by our tribal members, these yearly elections ensure diverse voices and perspectives are represented in decision-making, keeping our community engaged in the democratic process.
