The goals of the Resource Department are to protect and preserve the natural resources associated with the Ninilchik Tribe for use and secure resources for future generations by performing inventories, identifying needs, addressing issues, and identifying the best practices to guide these activities.

Subsistence Fishery

NTC operates as gillnet manager for Ninilchik permit holders, fishing the Kasilof & Kenai Rivers for Sockeye Salmon.

Moose Hunting

NTC manages operations for shareholder-only Annual Hunting Programs for Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) & Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. (NNAI).

Forestry Service

The NTC Resource Department works to address forestry concerns by way of hazardous fuel load reduction, mitigation, and monitoring. They conduct thinning and sanitation cutting to remove dead, dying, or deteriorating trees with the aim of reducing fuel loads.
