The Ninilchik Traditional Council owns and operates a tribal library, the Niqnalchint Library, in house at the Administration Office. This library is grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and it serves to house cultural and historical books and media, focusing on tribal, Alaskan, and indigenous genres. Additionally to cultural materials the library also offers contemporary literature & non-fiction, science, history, & documentary videos, and a computer station for library member use.
Library eligibility: Ninilchik tribal members, students of the University of Alaska campuses, and high school students at Ninilchik School are eligible to apply for a library card and use library services including checking out materials. Library card holders are also able to view and copy materials from the non-checkout Ninilchik & tribal archive section in house.
The Niqnalchint Library is also online! You can also view the materials catalog online on the web portal, and library card holders can place material reservations as well as write reviews.
